capture quality I am unable to capture digital camcorder videos without them skipping

Does anyone know what my problem is? I am capturing video from a digital camcorder in mpeg and also tried in DV format but the video plays back on Roxio with skipping in the audio and video quality. Thanks - please help!

What are your system specifications? Capturing video takes alot of CPU power and fairly fast hard drives wtih plenty of empty space.

Are you using a Firewire connection to capture from your camcorder? USB will give the type of capture you are describing. EMC 8 capture requires a Firewire connection to capture froma DV camcorder.

Also, make sure your hard drive is defragged. A scattered hard drive can cause problems similar to yours.
