Hi everybody.

I have a lot of avi files with srt subtitle files.
I wonder. How can i burn a DVD that includes the subtitle to watch on a normal DVD player ?
Tried different ways but never managed.

Help is needed please.

I do have Toast Pro 10, Mac OS X 10.6.2 and Perian plugin is installed (v1.2)

I hope someone can give me a quick answer smile.gif

Thx

I don't believe Toast can author DVDs with subtitles.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

I believe it may not function under Snow. Check this out.

Can confirm that authoring DVD from avi/srt and avi/sub/idx will work with OS 10.6.2 using Toast 9.0.5.
I have QT 7 Player installed (along with the "new" QuickTime), and Perian 1.2.
The subtitles appear and seem to be always visible (i.e. "burned in") when the DVD is played back.

I used to. In Leopard and with Toast 9.0.2
I could also burn avi+ srt to a cd/dvd to play in a DivX dvd player.
Sinds I upgraded forst to Snow Leopard, then to Toast 10, then to 10.0.6 nothing works anymore. My cd/dvd with avi+srt only have audio and no video and if I encode to _TS it has no undertitles.
I lost many dvd's. Can someone help?
I have Perian 1.2 and both QuickTime 7 an X play very good and with subtitles.

You can have both Toast 9 and 10 installed concurrently. So, reinstall Toast 9.0.5 and use it when Toast 10 refuses to cooperate. I usually use Toast 9.0.5, since I'm apparently not working with formats/features that require Toast 10.
Of course, YMMV.
