No matter whether I select Standard or High quality recording on the first introduction screen, the application will only convert using High quality, i.e. 120 minutes tape takes about 5.4 GB of hard disk space.
Toggling the quality button between Standard and High seems to have no effect: 120 minutes always takes about 5.4 GB.
This forces me to shrink the resulting files every time I want to burn a DVD in Toast.
How can I resolve this problem?
(Using Snow Leopard)

I haven't been able to get it to work at all in Snow Leopard and I don't believe Roxio has officially said it does. Since I can't test this myself I can at least tell you that using the fit-to-DVD compression in Toast (after creating a disc image file) will net you better quality than if you record at lower quality in the first place.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
