What is the advantage of using DV AVI verses DV HQ capture setting? They both have same resolution.

When I open the progrm to capture it automatically opens cyber link you cam....Annoying van I change this?



I get some black and white noise at the first few seconds of a VHS tape but then it goes away. Its not the tape, any ideas on what would cause this?



One con is I wish it would record beginning to end of a tape with out shutting down on gaps. It bridges short ones with blue screen but sometimes it will shut down.

Are you sure this is the Mac version? The Mac version has a standard and high setting for quality. Both are full resolution MPEG 2 files but the standard quality has a 4 mbps variable bit rate while high is 6 mbps so it has less compression.
