I had problems this weekend with magic jack. their rep took control of my computer and deleted something that made my disk drives not write. At first I thought it was the program (Roxio) so I un installed it and then re installed it. But it still didn't correct the problem. So then I decided to do a system restore. After doing this I kept getting "Unable to find certificate file." and "there is a problem authenticating your virsion. Please make sure your system is set to the current date." So then I go to this forum and try
http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/conte...S=set-locale=en
Then I was able to delete the program, but when I now try to install it, part way through it asks for "INSERT DISK"
When I looked up this it says to try what I already did on that web page above.

I am using Windowws XP
RMC 7.5

Please Help Someone

Make sure that Magic Jack isn't plugged in, when you try to install, or use EMC 7.5.

If you do have it unplugged, and after a reboot, it still doesn't work, copy the contents of the CD, to a folder on your hard drive, and install from the setup.exe, in that folder.

magic jack has been unplugged, during all the trials of installing. I now have copied the contents of the cd to a folder, but there is no setup.exe in the folder. I did a search and it said no

You copied the contents of the EMC 7.5 Program disc to your computer?  You should have 2 discs, a Program disc and a Content disc.

The Program disc has a Setup.exe file and an Install.exe file among the cab files.

You're welcome.  It's hard to say why it wouldn't install, from the disc.  Sometimes, the software needs a little coaxing to get it to install. sad.gif
