How can I select only the best part of a video I already downloaded from the camera as an avi file? How can I do if I want to use just some part of the movie as in windows movie makers?Thank you.

Bring the .avi into VideoWave, open the Timeline, and split out the parts that you don't want in your production.  It does not change the actual .avi.  It only tells the software what to do when you burn it to disc.
