Hit the stop button, on your DVD player's controller.

Also check the player settings - some have the loop option (and it's not unknown for that to be turned on accidentally)

Of course if you put the slide show on the DVD with no menu, that is the expected behavior.
If you want, add the slide show as the introductory movie and then create a menu as a simple "The End". After teh slide show plays, you'll get the menu. now that will repeat until you use that remote.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
