When I click on a link to update it throws me out to another page and I just end up in a loop.
There never appears any download link for the ESD version from 7.0

Temporaily turn off pop-up blockers (it is a pop-up), advertising filters (it has the word "promotion" in it), firewalls. If that doesn't work, temporarily turn off the Virus-scanner.

There is only one update on the main Roxio website, for the ESD version, but if you have the old version, there is a complete new download of the software that is updated. I think you will have to contact Roxio to get access to it. The download is free, if you have registered your software.

What is your version? You may already have the "new" downloaded version

I am experencing the same problem just looping from screen to screen, never getting to an actual download prompt. I have turned on pop-up blockers in IE 6.0 and in my SBC/Yahoo security, turned off all firewalls, etc. Nothing helps. I have version 7.0, btw.

What other settings on my PC may be blocking the download?

Once you have turned off everything you can think of and it still doesn't help---rather than trying to figure out just what to turn off, go to START--RUN--enter MSCONFIG and when the screen appears remove the check from "Normal Startup" and chage it to SELECTIVE STARTUP". Then on the next screen, remove ALL the check marks in all the boxes. Reboot and then go back and do the update. This method will turn off all of what you manually tried before and then some. So if there is still something causing the "loop" this will remedy that.

Just remember when you have everything done, be sure and go back and run msconfig again and set the system back to "Normal Startup" and reboot.

To add to what's been said.....

Finding all the pop up blockers can be a real challenge.

If you have Yahoo on your toolbar, there are two separate pop up blockers. At the top menu, there is one under Tools. Than if you have the red Y! under your Address where you type in a web address, under the pencil is a Toolbar option, where you need to uncheck the button for pop up blocker. One wouldn't think that would affect popups, but it did on my computer.

Also, go to Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options\ Privacy and uncheck the pop up blocker there.

So go through all your menus and see what you can find.
