I am trying to burn to TDK Double Layer DVD+R discs. My first time using these and I am getting a error at the end of the process station that it could not complete the process because of a MAC OS ERROR 5001. After I eject the disc it appears to have the movie I burned and seems to view fine on my computer but not so well on my DVD player.

Is your optical drive capable of using DVD-R DL discs?
Go to "About this mac" click on "more info" in that window to pull up "System Profiler". Check "Disc Burning" and see if your drive supports the double layer discs.

Your drive's firmware probably has a problem with that particular media. Insert one of those TDK discs and choose Disc Info from the Recorder menu. There should be a link in the window that appears that goes to a Web site where users report their experience with different media. Typically the only reliable DL media on Macs is Verbatim DVD+R DL, especially if you are using the built-in superdrive. Sometimes a firmware update for a drive will make more brands (or manufacturer codes) of discs work.

Some workarounds to try are to first choose Save as Disc Image and then try burning the disc image to the DL disc using the Image File setting in the copy window, and to choose the lowest burn speed shown after the blank disc is recognized by Toast.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
