This is the first time I've tried transferring a TiVo recording to dvd. All went well but when I played the dvd the sound quality was extremely poor.

I'm a newbie for all of this and didn't play with any Toast settings. I'm also not really familiar or knowledgeable of all the available settings.

I'm using Toast 9 with the latest update.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

I'm moving your topic to the TiVo Mac forum. My understanding is Toast does not re-encode the audio when making a video DVD from a TiVo transfer so I don't know why it would be different. Does Toast report that it is re-encoding or does it report that it is multiplexing when you click the burn button or choose Save as Disc Image?
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Hi Guru,

Toast isn't showing any special notices about anything. I'm using all of the default settings. I haven't saved it as a disc image...should I do that first?
