Hi there...

I have made a video production using VideoWave 10 where I've added segments into the storyline by adding video and trimming. The content comes from two videos, A & B. There are 14 segments to this new production. When previewed in VideoWave, all works fine. When outputting to any format (.wmv, mpg, etc), this same problem occurs: the sound from the third segment (which comes from the original video A) is playing in the fourth segment (which comes from the original video cool.gif. And then subsequently is the sound for all proceeding segments...WTF?!

I have outputted using the software rendering and the hardware rendering, so that's not the issue.

I am using EMC 10 and the computer is a Vista machine, one year old, with plenty of capacity and speed.

Is this some glitch with VideoWave? What the heck is going on? Been banging my head all day on this trying to figure it out and have read every single thread here (or so it seems).

Much appreciative of any help you got!

I am sorry but I don't quite understand what you are doing. If you add clips A&B in VW then you have 2 segments. How then do you get 14 segments?
You will have to explain the steps you are doing.
BTW, have you cleared out the proxy files at some point?

sorry:

Two source videos that I am trimming into 14 different segments that become one edited video.

The two source videos are A) a band playing music and cool.gif a lecture.

One video is added using "Add Photo/Video" then trimmed to make segment 1; then the other video is added and trimmed to make segment 2, and so forth.

Segment 1 works fine. Segment 2 works fine. Segment 3 works fine. Segment 4 uses the sound from segment 3, but the video works fine. etc.

Basically, the sound from video A is being "bleeding" into all the other trimmed segments after segment 3.

Yes, cleaned the proxy cache.

thanks...

I have the same problem. If insert two video clips into a project and trim the front of the second video clip the project plays correctly. Video and audio are trimmed. However, when I create an MP4 WAV or whatever the audio is not trimmed from the second clip. When I play the MP4 and it gets to the second clip the audio starts from the beginning of the clip, not where it is trimmed.

To create my MP4 I used Quick time to trim the original clip and saved the shortened video under a new name. Then I opened a new project, inserted the first  clip, then the inserted the second Quick Time trimmed clip. When I created the MP4 it came out OK. Easy wasn’t it.

I still have no idea what you are doing in the highlighted statement. Please give a step-by-step list of what you are doing.

Hi there,

Was trying to find a solution to my problem when I came across this topic.

I am having the same problem.

I have added a 50min mpeg video to my production and I have trimmed it to the few minutes that I need out of it. I then added the same video and trimmed in another section to add to the production. etc etc.

When I preview my production, it looks and sounds fine.

However when I go to output it as another file or burn to DVD, the clips/vision is the same as my production but the audio seems to be playing the original whole 50 min video instead of just what I trimmed.

How do I fix this?

Cheers,
Tam

First change your process as below ! The issue may clear up on its own.  Are you adding anything other than the native audio?  Are you doing any overlays?

Same solution as above.  Clear out your proxy files by going to the top menu, select tools, options and then clear proxy files.  Sometimes they retain some of the information from previous edits when you make new edits.  Clearing the proxy files gets rid of them.  Also when was the last time you rebooted your computer.  That will also get rid of some junk.

BTW, it sounds like you are doing a lot of extra work.  Add the original video once and make all the splits in the time line view.  Delete what you don't want.  In storyline view, you can move the segments around the way you want them.

Do not use trim!  That is good for cutting the beginning and end but not anything else.  Split the video using the double headed arrow just below the preview window.  Make sure you have selected the desired video track..  Select the section that you don't want and use the "X" to delete that section.  Again make sure that you have select the section you want to delete.  There should be a dotted line around the section you select.

Watch this video.  I did not emphasize the need to select the proper segment so that is why I used the bold/large font in the discussion above.

Thanks Sknis!

I should have spoken to you first before I started and wasted my time..... I can now see I was doing it the loooooong and wrong way! Silly me! Your video was a great help! I will redo it that way and see how that goes.

Thanks again!

Tammy
