Hi Doug,
I counted my transitions and I have 248. It does look like your missing some ,if you only have 135+
What I am going to list is call peels or turns...I think it is the same as curls.
Page Peel 1-2-3-4
Page turn corners open
page turn diagonal
page turn diagonal split
page turn down
page turn horizontal open
page turn horziontal split
page turn left
page turn left split
page turn right
page turn rotate
page turn up
page turn vertical open
page turn vertical split
Some of the doors are:
doors
door sideways
double warp down
double warp left
double warp right
double warp up
fall over
warp left
warp right
warp up
warp down
I thought I had more but they are called Pushes and cubes
I hope this helps.

There are lots of users who are way more experienced and expert than I am. I'm just posting this as an intermediate step, so to speak. Hopefully one of the gurus will be able to post a more informative reply soon.
In the meantime, it would be helpful for the gurus if you were able to provide information about your system. The type of processor and its speed, amount of RAM, the type of video card you have, etc.. You can get an idea of the sorts of helpful info. from my signature and those of others.
Hope this helps get you on your way to accessing more transitions.

I do have many of the swipes, wipes and squares from all locations including sand blowing, gobs etc. but none of the ones that Maddie had listed and most likely much more since I only have approx 135 -140 tops transitions. How would one render the transitions from an external source? I keep getting that the version is not compatible with ROXIO 7 and will not alolow me to bring up any previously made video from version 7 DVD Builder program.
Thanks and hope to hear back soon.

Open videowave or My DVD go to tools options and run the graphics card test you need to be in hardware to get all the transitions to work. Have you checked to see if there is any new firmware for your vid card.

Sounds like you did not leave the other version (7 or 7.5) installed. If you had, then those .dmsd project files should have opened in v8 ok. They won't now because they are pointing to resources that no longer exist.
As to the transitions, you should have more than in the 7/7.5 version. If you don't, there are 2 things that can cause this. First, if you did not install the Content CD, do so. This will add more content like this.
Also, in v8 some of the content that is available, like the 3D transitions for example, are only listed depending on the rendering 'mode' your video card is set for in the software. It has 2 settings, 'Hardware' and 'Software'. If you open up Video Wave, then go to Tools -> Options you can see what it is set for. If set to Software, you will see less transitions, etc. If set to Hardware, you should see all of them. If you run the 'Graphics Test' shown, it will test your video card and set it appropriately. If it defaults to Software, than you can try updating the drivers for you video. If that doesn't help, than you'll need to get a new one that is fully directx 9 compatible to get it to work. If it defaults to Hardware, than you should be seeing all the content that's installed, 100's in the case of transitions.

Larry.....When you mentioned leaving version 7 installed....It was another 532MB of space used to keep that software loaded. Is it possible to reinstall ver 7 to an external 160GB drive and use it or reinstall back to my local drive?

Both versions can be on the pc at the same time, so you should be able to reinstall it, with the exception of drag-to-disc (if you install that one) as you can only have the v8 version of that. Installing to a second HD will probably not help any, as most of it will still end up on your main drive in system folder areas.
