Problem 1:
I am not able to reboot or shut down the computer after I use EMC 8.0. I have to force the shut down. I have Norton Internet Security 2006, there is a ccapp.exe error also displayed at shut down. My system was working fabulous until I installed EMC 8.0. I have a Pentium M with 2GB RAM and 60Gb of harddrive with nVIDIA FX5200. All my other applications work good even when the Roxio is not working. My system doesnt freeze when I am working on it, it freezes at the shut down or restart after I use any application present in EMC 8.0. Sometimes, lets say I use Sound Editor for sometime and then close it and then if I wish to start Easy Audio Capture, the application simply doesn't start at all. Even if I try to run EMC Home application, it also does not want to start. Also with that, I will be 100% sure that my system will not shut down or reboot. There are no error or any thing which allows me to know if there are any errors.

Problem 2:
In this situation if I need to use Creator Classic, Creator Classic freezes when I have a DVD in my drive. Even this freezes my computer reboot or shut down. I will force the shut down and then restart and then run the creator classic with out the DVD in the drive, it starts cooly and then I place my DVD in the drive, only then I will be able to use the creator classic.

So whats up with this software? Althou its a fabulous application, why arent they correcting all these gliches. I sometimes feel not to use EMC because it just freezes my computer at shut down or reboot.

ccapp.exe is part of Norton's and Norton's has always had a problem properly existing during a shutdown. Make sure your Norton's is updated.

As for the rest, it could be anything. Update, Update, Update, Update everything. Make sure you have ALL of the Microsoft's updates. If you are using WinXP, SP2 is recommended. Apply ALL security updates. Update ALL hardware drivers like video and audio. And last but not least, update to the latest DirectX. DirectX isn't just for games any more. EMC8 uses it extensively especially in Videowave and MyDVD.

Thanks for the reply. I have the latest drivers for every software I have on my laptop. I have Windows XP SP2 and I have even updated it to the latest Micosoft June update releases. I have the latest update of the drivers for my video card also and I have the latest DirectX 9c also installed. I dont have any unnecessary software installed on my laptop. You can say I am an update/latest versions freek, in a way I can say the day the updates or the latest versions get released it will be on my laptop. So every possible software and drivers I have are the latest, even then I notice the problems I mentioned earlier with everything properly installed.

Sounds like you keep your machine up to date. I have a Gateway laptop 2.8Ghz, 1gig RAM and 80gig HD. I run EMC8 Deluxe on it with no problems. I don't use Norton's Internet Security, but I do use Norton's Systemworks.

Perhaps someone else can help.
