I just upgraded my system with a new videocard (EVGA 256MB 7300LE PCI-E V+S+D) to replace the integrated video I had before (see below).
The system seems to run faster and encode faster, however I noticed the quality is not as good at the same settings. I also get repetative vertical distortion lines that are not in the raw video.
When I switch back to software encoding it goes much slower, however with excellant quality.
Has anybody else seen this?
By the way I also got numerous errors after installing the card and had to do a total re-install of EMC8.

Besides speed, the only other difference would be the 3D transitions and Effects. They are NOT available in the software render mode.
Sounds like an nVidia card. Make sure you have the latest driver and DirectX.
