Hello,
I have Roxio Creator Basic V9 and I am trying to capture video from a Sony Hi 8 video camcorder. My computers capture card is a Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1800 (Model 78xxx, Combo ATSC/QAM). When I open the capture video window the drop down for both the video and audio says," There are no devices available for this media type". I have used this many times before and have had no problems. The camcorder is on, the correct rca cables are plugged in and the capture card driver is updated and working properly. Can someone please help me if they know a solution to my problem?
Thanks,
Brad

The video card came with my computer when I bought it. I looked for the software on my hard drive and there isn't any. I even checked another application that I have used to capture video and its not seeing the capture card either. Yet it is visible when I check the device manager.

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Same thing happened to me today. I got it to work by messing around with the order of when you open the software, connect camera, etc. What worked for me was : connect camera to computer (camera off), open Roxio, then turn camera on.
At first, I started with the camera on and then opened Roxio, and the software did not like that.
Good luck.
