Ok, I visited here a couple months ago when I first started to try and make this video for my nieces graduation and I have finally got everything just the way I want it and burned it on a DVD via MYDVD and it worked fine on the televison set, but I have a couple questions.

First when I did then burn it took about an hour for the encoding and such is that normal? I have 5 songs and about 150 or so pictures.

Second, if I want the DVD to keep staring over after it is finished is there a way I can set that when I do the burn.

Last, I sort of understand what a ISO file is, a copy of the movie (video) correct? So that if I want to make a copy of the same video that I do not have to wait for all the encoding time again just copy the ISO file?
(That is if I know where I put it!)

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Susan

There are many things that can affect render time. Rendering is very CPU intensive so having a fast computer helps. More than 512RAM may help a little, but that just helps Windows XP in general. How much editing you have done will also affect render time. Cuts, transitions, and effects will all affect render time.

You didn't say how long the video was. On my old computer ( Athlon XP 3000+), it took about 3X to 4X the length of the video. So a one hour video would take my computer 3 to 4 hours to render. I just purchased a new dual core machine and that time has been cut in half.

I beleive that if you create a DVD-No Menu project, it will automatically repeat itself without touching the remote.

Yes, it is the entire disc compressed into a single file. When you need another copy, just burn it from the ISO file.

The video is just over 15 minutes long and I did do a lot of editing and special effects (hey I was a roll learning all this) so I guess that would be about right.

I will try doing one without the menu page (I remember seeing that option somewhere...I will find it again) an see if that works.

I really appreciate the help, and I am sure I will be back again for something or other.

That option is under the FILE menu, NEW -> DVD-no menu

I've had a lot of fun doing fmaily reunions, etc. Just did a music video for my nephew's band. Even impressed myself. LOL
