Is there a way using Easy Media Creator 8 Suite (the version downloaded off the website) to clean up the sound on an .avi file? I have to make a DVD out of this video, but there is a pretty serious hum I would like to get rid of or reduce.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Using Videowave you can mute the sound. You can even add your own audio.
The audio on the file is dialogue from a play, so I can't mute it. I really would just like to clean up this hum. If there isn't any way of doing it, I'll just leave it alone and they will just have to deal with it.
Thanks

iF you do no editing, you can extract the audio and then use Sound Editor to clean it up. Mute the native sound on the video and import the edited sound file.

Thank you Gary. I had thought about doing that, but unfortunately there was one scene where they really had a train wreck on their lines and we did have to edit. Maybe I'll try to mess with it some anyway.
Thanks again.

If you don't mind another step, you can export the edited version to DV AVI file. Then extract the audio from that file. Create a new project with the new DV AVI file and extracted audio file. As long as the video and audio match, it should be easy to get it to work.

I actually made the project in Windows Movie Maker, which is where the editing was done. There are transitions between each scene except for the 'split' scene. Each scene is it's own little movie and the split scene is just two files with no transition between (it just jumps from one to the other). I was planning on saving the WMM project to my computer as DV-AVI as was suggested in another post and then bringing it into VideoWave to fix the sound there. With each scene being self-contained, I think as long as I match up the right 'fixed' audio to the right clip, I should be ok. I have a couple of names yet to find out for the credits, so I won't be working on it any more until tomorrow when I am able to call people and get the names, so I'll see how it goes.
Thanks for all of your help and suggestions.

Once you export to DV AVI in WMM, it becomes one file again. No scenes unless you do a scene detect in Videowave.
Before bringing it into VW, extract the audio for cleaning.
