I get this message whenever I attempt tp burn a data dvd. Its a new LaCie drive and its been doing it from the first disc. The disc still seems to get burned, but I can't be sure that all the data has copied properly.

The drive reported an error:
Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST
Sense Code = 0 x 26
INVALID FIELD IN PARAMETER LIST

Any advice gratefully accepted

Try a different brand of media to see if that fixes the issue. Verbatim media works well with LaCie drives. Also, you can choose Save as Disc Image from the File menu and then burn the disc image to DVD using the Image File setting in the Copy window. Sometimes that's a workaround to avoid errors.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thanks I'll give that a try. The discs I used that gave this message were Philips. Thanks again.

I don't think it's the media becaue i have the same drive and get the same message using Verbatim DVD-Rs. No messages when burning CDs though...

If you use the save as disc image option from the file menu, you will know for sure whether the problem is hardware related or not.
