Why getting " this disc is not recognized"

Getting this now lot in both Toast and Popcorc and with both brands of DVD I  use.  "disc is not recognized --(with the happy mac symbol-- wasn't that from OS 9??)

but then everything burns/works fine -- just an annoying thing to always see now. any ideas appreciated. thanks.

I think this is a message coming from the Finder. Go to the CDs and DVDs panel in System Preferences. Where it asks what to do when you insert a blank CD or DVD, choose Ignore. I think that will stop that message.

Yeah, it was on open finder, can't remember putting that though, great.
