Using Roxio 8 and trying to open a dvd project that I created under Roxio 7.5, I get an error message:

Runtime Error! Program: ... Files\Roxio\Easy Media Creator\VideoUI\VideoWave8.exe This application requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team ...

Not all V 7.5 projects are compatible with V8.  :)   It depends on the transitions, added text, etc. This is partially caused by combining Roxio and Sonic programs in one.   If you have not uninstalled V 7.5 use that to finish the project or to burn it to a file.  Once you have it in an avi file or a mpg2 file, you can edit it in V8. The programs are fundamentally different.  You can have both V 8 and V 7.5 on your computer at the same time.

V 8 is also harder on your computer than V 7.5.  If you can't do any of the above, please post your computer specs.

You have a different problem; do not thread jack. :D  Start a new thread (topic).  Post your computer specs and details about what you are doing (you are not trying to open a V 7.5 project in V 8 --so it is different.)  You may get the same error message but not necessarily for the same reason.

You do not have the same problem, you are not trying to open a V 7.5 project in V 8. You are just getting a similar error message.  Do not thread-jack.  .  Start a new thread, post your problem and post your computer specs in your signature (Use My Controls at the top). The more care you take in posting a problem, the better (and faster)  will be your answer.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
