Dell Lat 620 with TSST CD-RW/DVD-ROM
I have suddenly found that I cannot burn CDs - it will only allow me to make disk images. There is no drive listed in te application - tried disc copy, backup, Creator Classic &c.
PC rebooted, drive removed and reinstalled, ...
Any suggestions?
No drives seen

Sorted it ...
Updated PX Engine - rebooted and solved. But why? The drive has been in place for 4 years without problems?

a MS 'update' caused it maybe? It wouldn't be the first time it happened
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Roxio software sees the drives with the help of their PX filter which is installed in a deep registry entry. If something disturbs that filter entry, Roxio loses the drive(s). Reinstalling the PX engine replaces the filter.
You did well.
You did well.
It is a good job that I did sort it - Roxio support came back and basically said "Hard luck - we don't support the product, so go and buy a new version"
Well, the upshot will be that I will probably never purchase a Roxio product again and choose an alternative aswell as advising other not to purchase Roxio either.
It probably took them longer to write the email telling me that than it would have taken to tell me to upload the PX filter.
Quality of Support - I find it hard to give them even a ZERO.
