Hi Everybody,

I have a brand new Sony Vaio Laptop shipped with "Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 LJ". Upon startup, asking for "Roxio Easy Media Creator Home.msi" after long lasting installation wizard. Cannot find it. The program was shipped as installed so I do not have it. If I as it to Sony the answer will be to restore entire OS which I will never do for this. This is giving me pretty hard time. I downloaded latest update of the program (may not be the same), it says installation not found and breaks. Please tell me something other then completely uninstall it.

Attached pictures are the screen-shots where I was stuck.

I am close to a dessert for a surveying company Kordil Survey and dealing with problems like this seems to be touching my nerves with an exaggeration coefficient 10 compared with normal environment. I ask either for the MSI link to download or please advice.

Please find attached pictures from the point.

When I run the program it works (also attached)

Best regards,

(screen dump deleted to remove CD key)

You have a cut down OEM version and support for that will come from the OEM who supplied it and they would have to supply a disc with the program

The updates available here are for the full retail version and won't work with an OEM one
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea how I managed cutting it down, because I have never used it. There should be a way to fix that. As I said I cannot restore entire OS. I have it but all together with entire system. Referring to a CD does not mean anything to me because it is impossible to get it.

You didn't cut it down - the supplier did (in your case, probably Sony) but you will need a CD from them of that particular variant

It was not there. I have been using the computer over 3 weeks. It happened after installing some software packages.

Contact Sony support and tell them you need the disc

Harita,

The software pre-installed on your system was working until you broke it by "installing some software packages".
Parts of your pre-installed software are not available for download from here. The only way to repair that is by restoring the entire OS, which you have decided you will never do.

There is no MSI download link, and Sony won't treat you as a special case and make you a disc when you have their system restore available to you but choose not to use it.
The Advice: your only choices are [1] to hobble along using whatever will work at this time, or [2] use Sony's system restore.

Survey_harita, do as Daithi suggested.  Contact Sony, and ask them for a disc.  The worst that can happen is, they will say no.

If they do say no, remember that, when you decide to get a new computer in the future.

Did you first check to see if Easy Media Creator -LJ is compatible wiht W7?  The retail version of EMC 10 or 10.1 is NOT.

Read this  (link) and remember that you chose to installl W7 of your own free will.
