I am very unexperienced. My dh bought creator 8 for me so I could transfer home vcr movies to a dvd. Basic question is how to connect vcr to computer. I have the three jacks in front of computer ( yellow, red, white). Would appreciate your help.

Sorry you are not giving us enough information. What kind of VCR tapes? What kind of computer (at least the Manufacturer and Model). What operating system --XP (what) - Media Edition, Home. Pro) Service pack 2?

Looks like that computer does have a built in analog to digital converter with Giga PocketTM Personal Video Recorder
Since you can use that computer to capture TV, you should be able to use it to caputure the VCR using the same instructions (for capturing from TV)/ Typically the yellw port is video and the other two are the audio channels. Match them up with the output ports on your VCR.

Once you capture the videos to your computer, then you can bring them into VideoWave to edit them. Keep the captured videos rather short - say 20 minutes or so to help prevent audio/visual sync problems.

You may need to buy a Analog to Digital converter
That is what the Gigapocket device does.

Just connect the VCR to teh computer like hooking up two VCRs together. You will need to use the software that came preinstalled to record. As sknis stated once recorded, then those files can be used in EMC8.

Yeah, most of those "pansy" pitchers in the AL can't hit so they have one of those other DH guys do it for them. Although when they come over to play a team in the NL they have to hit anyway. Sorry Bruce, just a died in the wool National League fan :) Now If we could just get rid of those Twins and those Mariners, we would probably win a lot more games too !!!

I bought a device by ADS Technologies called Instant DVD USB 2.0 at Circuit City. Cost about $100.
It comes with all the cables required to connect to the VCR auxilliary outputs for video, left audio and right audio. It plugs into a USB 2.0 port in the front of my computer and requires a power source. Also comes with a software package to capture the signal and convert it to several digital formats. Very easy to use and it can be unplugged and stashed out of the way when not being used.

What formats does it let you capture as? I would be interested in how well it works.

Ok, I get them hooked up and then how do I get it to the computer and on a DVD? I just paid Walmart $40 to put 3 of my grandsons ballgames on a DVD from a VCR tape.
