not complete the burn in either process using DVD-R discs. At first I thought it was the discs ( Taiyo Yuden
16X -R ) so I went and purchased new Sony DVD-R 16X discs. I still have the same problem. I have used the Taiyo Yudens with previous programs ( Roxio ) with no problems. Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

Please don't add to the confusion by shortcutting the name of the version. Do you have Creator 2009 or do you have Easy Media Creator 9 or do you have an OEM version?
Are you getting any error codes from the burner? How much video are you trying to burn onto a disc (Time). Try using Video Copy and Convert, make sure you have the Copy DVD tab selected and try to burn the ISO. If the ISO is too large to fit on a single sided disc, it will convert it to fit.
What burner do you have (make and model) and will it burn both + and dash R? Some burners will not. Have you updated the firmware for the burner?
Why do you need to burn both + and dash R. Most modern players will play both. As for why you can burn +R and not dash R, perhaps this will help.

Download and try this small footprint FREE image writing software called ImgBurn..
If it fails to write a iso image file it could mean your drive is the problem..

I/O error, Interpretation - Write error, Write operation failed
Using the same iso and a Verbatim dvd+r 16x disc, it failed for the same reason as above.
Speed was AWS

Using Roxio disc/data burn and the same image .iso with TY dvd-r 16x the burn failed as follows:"Failed to start the image writing operation Error while Burning Image 80004003 Error while Aborting".
Using Roxio disc/data burn and the Verbatim dvd+r 16x completed successfully.
Speed was 8.04X

The has never been an error indicating a bad burner. ( Sony DVD RW DW-D26A )with latest firmware.

3 / 0C / 00 WRITE ERROR
That's either a faulty disc or tthe burner is incapable of actually writing to a disc (it's the drive firmware reporting that back to the OS and not the program itself)
