Hi,
The Software that comes with the IOMega Rev drive allows one to format their Rev drive, eject the drive, etc. It works fine until EMC 8 is installed - then I get the error message that the drive needs exclusive access and some other software is preventing that. When I remove EMC 8, the problem goes away. Does anyone know which particular Roxio program is doing that so I can disable it? Otherwise I will have to return EMC 8.
Thanks,
John

If I had to guess, I would say it is probably drag to disc. It is down by the clock in the system tray. If you right click on the icon for it, you can choose to tell it to close and not come back.

Actually the only command available is "Exit Drag-to-Disc".
That will work for testing your Iomega, but D2D will be back next time you reboot.
If you need to disable it all the time, use Start-Run-msconfig and stop it in the Startup tab.

Thanks for the quick reply... actually, I never installed Drag-to-disc because I had problems in earlier versions with backup conflicts. Looking at the task list, I disabled the only Roxio program I saw, and I still have the problem. I suspect that I need to do an advanced installation and remove some component, but don't have a clue at this time.

OK, I reinstalled Roxio without the following packages since I never use them and they looked somwhat suspicious:
Drag-to-Drop - this can't be the culprit because I never installed it
Media Import - anyone know what this does?
Media Manager - never used it
Roxio Backup - never used it
Disc Image Loader - looks suspicious
It's working great now. So the culprit has to be one of the last 4 packages... I'm going to be running with this configuration but if someone else can narrow it down further, maybe it will help somone else having the problem.

In short, Media Import allows you to capture video and audio... Disk Image Loader would create a virtual drive that allow you to mount disc images without actually burning it...
