Using Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.  I can copy a DVD+R and then play it on the computer, but the new disc will not play on a VCR. I  am forgeting something because I did it successfully about a year ago.  Any thoughts?

1) Are you using good quality discs?  Which ones (brand)?
2) Can you play the original?
3) How are you copying them - what application?
4) Will your player play a DVD+R (Owners manual)?  If you can play the disc on your computer, it is probably OK.  Now you need to look at your DVD player.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

1. Staples discs, DVD+R.
2. Yes.
3  Using Roxio creator & MyDVD 9.  Hit copy button and follow directions.
4.  Yes.  The original is actually made on the VCR from the camcorder tape.

I made copies earlier in the year and they played on the VCR.  Apparently I am missing a step.  I tried to finalize the disc, but it told me to use an appendable disc.

Do you actually have a DVD recorder?  You can't play a DVD in a VCR.

1. Staples discs, DVD+R.

Use a good quality blank disc - Verbatim or Taiyo Yden/JVC

I think the OP is talking about a VCR-DVD combo unit otherwise nothing of what he posted makes any sense. As usual, by using incorrect terms the OP has created confusion:rolleyes:

It is a VCR/DVD.

It is a VCR/DVD and plays both tapes and discs.
