I am at wits end trying to solve a problem. I have been ripping CDs to my computer for playback on my Logitech Squeeezebox for several years. Quite recently, when I tried to rip a CD to my computer, I get an error message that states "There is a problem writing file to disc". After this error message is posted, the program rejects the CD from my drive. I have loaded a CD into a different drive and I get the same message so it certainly is not the drive. I also tried other CDs, changed the destination location and also specified MP3 rather than FLAC and I still get the same error message.
Any suggestions from someone out there who can give me a handy suggestion as to how I can fix this? Again, it has been working for years and now all of a sudden I can't rip a new CD to my Squeezebox file on my computer. I wrote an email to Roxio but their response was that Creator 8 is a legacy product that is no longer supported and the "fix" that they suggested was that I upgrade to Creator 10 for $59.00!

If you suspect that something in the Roxio software has broken, it wouldn't hurt to uninstall the software as completely as possible, and then reinstall it. If you can return it to where it was when freshly installed, it should be back in factory condition and fully functional.

You will find the clean install instructions here http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/kb/Creator/000086CR&PARAMS=
If you recently updated to IE7 and/or Media Player 11 that may cause you problems.
