I bought a new HP computer (Windows XP) two years ago (2008). Only now I am trying to burn a DVD for the first time . I am able to burn the video but not the audio. It promts that I need AC3.
The HP computer came with Roxio Creator Basic 9 (Easy Media Creator 9).
How do I get it to burn the audio?

I have been able to make data discs, play DVDs, audio CDs.
Please help.
If I buy Creator-10 (via download) will it overwrite the old Creator-9 ?
Thanks

If the computer came with a version of EMC 9 then it mostlikely is an OEM version which means that it will have features missing or crippled. I believe AC3 would be one of these missing features.

The latest version is Roxio Creator 2010. If you get the download version, you have a 30 day refund policy. You definitely don't need the crippled EMC 9 version and you should remove it if you get a new, full version.

Yes Tommy,

Your version is one of the cut-down versions. There is a full discussion about them HERE.

You should uninstall your EMC 9 Basic before installing a newer un-crippled version.
