ok, i have the roxio easy cd creator 5 installed on this computer, it was there when i got it, i suppose they installed it,,,, i have a stupid question, can u update it to the 10 for free or not or can u update it at all? with out paying for it that is,

If Easy CD Creator 5 is on your present machine it won't get you any discount off the price of Creator 2010.
The Easy CD Creator software cannot be updated to any higher version. You have to buy the new version. Creator 2011 should be released to market in the next month or two if previous years are anything to go on.
