Go here (link) for an explanation of Creator 2011 3D function.

This (link) is an 18 second 3D video (if you have the glasses)

You can take a standard definition 2D DVD and play it with CinePlayer with the 3D function; not need to do any conversion. The result does depend on your computer being able to play and convert at the same time.

You can take a std definition video or high definition video that you make and convert it to 3D and burn it to disc to play.
