[The Doc]

I have just downloaded roxio creator pro 2011 and every time I try to install it I get the do not not meet minimum system requirements.  I am running win 7 ultimate, 6 gigs ram, I7 965 processor and have 1.5 gig free hard drive space. How do I get it installed?

If you only have 1.5GB of free space, on your hard drive, you have just found your problem.

I am sorry I stated my free hard drive space wrong. I have 1.5 tb of free space.

Check your video drivers are all up to date and also make 100% certain that you are not running it in compatibility mode

Yes, I am getting the "Does not meet system requirements" for my windows 7 pro 64 bit as well.  

I remember Roxio creator 2009 Ultimate did not like to play nice either back on Vista.  I'm pretty annoyed right now as I just shelled out a $100.00 for an upgrade and an hour of my life and it looks like this program is not quite ready for release.

If you have it in comptibility mode it will have problems.

Did you remember to turn off ALL background apps while installing (and I do mean all of them including anti-virus and adware blockers)?

It installed on my own machine with no problems at all

no compatiblility mode and no applications running.  I'm installing this on a clean system with only adobe cs4 and and my virus software. I always disable/turn off virus software before intalling my apps.  What version of windows 7 do you have your Creator 2011 running on with no problems?  Is it 64 bit?  Mine is, and it looks like at least one other poster having this problem is confirmed as 64 bit windows 7

64 bit Windows Ultimate. I had it installed over Creator 2010 and had no problems at any stage

I did a clean install also (I had to reformat because of another problem) and again, it went in after all windows updates but before I installed any other app (original install was on a fully working system)

Just to add some more detail to my particular scenario.  I was happily using Roxio Creator 2009 on my Vista 64 system.  (it had a rough installation also but it did install)  I just upgraded to Windows 7 becuase I was very interested in the Media Center upgrade.  I learned afterwards from reading online That Roxio Creator 2009 was not compatible with Windows 7.  I then purchased an upgrade license online paying the price to upgrade from Roxio Creator 2009.  Is it possible that this upgrade is looking for a previous version of Roxio on my system?  Because if it is, I'm not sure what I can do since Roxio Creator 2009 won't install on Windows 7.

No - it doesn't require a previous install
What may have happened is there are remnants of 2009 still on the system and that may be messing things up.

Try following this KB article to clean everything off the system and then try installing again

But looking at that log it seems the problem is with DirectX installation. Try downloading that from Microsoft (DirectX 9.0c) and, again, check your video system - what graphics are you using?

If I recall there was a patch to dotNET 3.5 recently from MS - that could also be relevant

I formatted my partition before a clean install of Windows 7. Could it really still be holding on to remnants of 2009?  I'll try your suggestion though and report back.  Thanks for the continued support.

OK so none of the folders that link suggested I delete existed except one empty Sonic folder in the registry.  Without much hope for success, I deleted it and restarted my computer.  Roxio then installed without a problem!!  It installed very quickly in comparison to my Creator 2009 Ultimate version also

You are pretty much my hero and if I could buy you a drink, I would.  

I must say that Roxio 2011 is a visually stunning improvement over Creator 2009 Ultimate and it was worth the extra work.  

I only hope that your suggestion helps the other couple of people that are getting the "does not meet minimum system requirements" message.

Yes, they can both be installed at the same time.  The additional apps in C2010 Pro have their own install/uninstall so they should not be affected.

If you're talking about the bundled 3rd party apps, they are separate from Creator 2009 anyway (I don't know what happened to those - I haven't seen them available yet)

Folks, also experiencing the "rollback of installation" while installing 2011 Pro on a Win 7 Ultimate system with 8Gb RAM and 2.5 TB of disk space.  I have tried four different approaches:  system as is, system with no startup or anti-virus programs running, system with no startups, no anti-virus and Roxio 2010 removed, system as before plus registry cleaned.

Now, unsure if this is related:  Recent attempt to install ATI updated drivers and software create a blue screen of death (BSOD).  I am running the previous rev of ATI drivers (rev 10.4) and the system has been very stable.

I have submitted my install logs after the third attempt to Roxio too.  I've attached the log file after attempt #2 since it fits the file size restrictions here.

Any new ideas out there to get past this???
