I restarted the computer and not only the VHS to DVD didn't work, but then, when I restarted the Creator 7, I found out that the files didn't work.
Thanks

Windows media Player is v.11
The Roxio VHS to DVD, I wasn't able to see it. On the CD installer there is nothing about this, and if I open the program I can't see the choice "about this program". But I just bought it this morning in Future Shop, and it should be the latest... I guess.
Regarding the service pack... I need advise in how to find out this. I have the computer set to "automatic updates", so I am assuming that I have the latest in Microsoft updates...
Thanks

Read this post and it should explain what IE8 and WMP 11 can do for your EMC 7...

Easy VHS to DVD is really included in sorts in C2010 and C2011 and buying the USB Capture Device separate.
So tell us what you want to do and maybe we could steer you in the right direction.
Look over minimum system requirements for the new C2011 software and post your PC specs..

I don't really care about VHS to DVD.
Uninstalling IE8 sounds like opening another can of worms... and at this point I have reached my limit.
I have the impression I will never be able to open these files, isn't it?
Anyway... I had a rough day. I have to live the office. Thanks for your help. I really hope there is an easy solution.

I'm sorry there is no easy solution.....you have a very very old Roxio version, that does not get along very well with XP sp3 ( http://kb.roxio.com/...017CR&PARAMS= )....... strike 1. It also does not get along with any version above WMP 9.......that's strike 2.
You may have to cut your losses and upgrade to a newer Roxio version (or whatever) and from the looks of your computer you may want to update that a bit too as you barely meet the minum requirements for VHS to DVD....strike 3.
Good luck

I guess I'm death. Three strikes and a count to ten.
I just returned the VHS to DVD to the store.
And I have decided to uninstall all the Roxio programs from my system.
Thanks anyway.

You can hopefully get back to where you were with XP SP 2 and Roxio EMC 7. It will take some work uninstalling and reinstalling but should be like it was before..
Don't delete your " labels jackets that I use everyday for my business." or there is no hope...
