I can play cd's or dvd's using cineplayer but cannot burn a copy of the disc.  Can anyone help?

You don't burn anything with CinePlayer.  It's a player.

What are you trying to burn?  There are a number of programs, in the EMC 9 suite, for burning to CDs and DVDs.
