Roxio Creator 2009.  I saved several   files in MyDVD.  When I retrieve them for editing, a warning appears 'FILES ARE MISSING".  The DVD menu comes in view, and preview plays the soundtrack, but the 100 or s images that are part of the production do not display.  The prompt on the multiple choice screen "browse" takes me to a file in Roxio Videowave 11 labeled IMAGES.  I cannot open or move the file.  If I exit MyDVD and go to Videowave, I cannot retireve any part of the file.  Please help!

That message indicates that myDVD cannot locate some of the files that are used in the project. Did you move the project file or any of the photo files to a different location?

BTW, I recommend that you change your user name. Using your e-mail address invites all sorts of spam mail from sites that scan forums just for such user names

I did not move or tampoer with the files in any way.  Is there any way I can get the images back into my production?  I will change my user name.  Thanks for the tip.

Please explain step-by-step what you did. It is not clear at all what you did from your initial post. For example what does "I saved several   files in MyDVD" mean? What files are you talking about.?
Can you view the images on your computer?

I have a Roxio Creator 2009.  Using MyDVD, I put together two separate slide shows using 130 images from the My Pictures file on my computer.  I added several sound tracks. I burned each one to disk, and then I saved the first one as MARIE'S MEMORIES 1 and the other as MARIE'S MEMORIES 2 for future editing. I can see them saved as DMSD files.  When I retrieve either of them I see the following warning:  YOUR PROJECT CONTAINS THE FOLLIWNG PROBLEMS:  MISSING FILES.  There follows a list of files, THEN THE MENU APPEARS ON THE PREVIEW SCREEN AND THE SOUND TRACK PLAYS, HOWEVER, THE PICTURES ARE NO LONGER IN THE PRODUCTION.  SOMEHOW THE IMAGES HAVE BECOME SEPARATED OR PERHAPS LOST.

ON OCCASION, A SCREEN HAS APPEARED FROM THE "MISSING FILES" WARNING SCREEN.  IT LISTS OPTIONS TO LoCATE MISSING FILES.  I HAVE USED THE "BROWSE" BUTTON AND THAT TAKES ME TO A FILE HEADED "ROXIO" (sub) VIDEOWAVE 11, AND (sub)IMAGES.  BUT I CANNOT INITIATE ANY ACTION.

I HOPE I HAVE MADE MY PREDICAMENT CLEAR.  THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ASSIST ME IN THIS MOST FRUSTRATING SITUATION.

Please make sure that your caps are turned off when posting unless you have a vision problem. Besides making it difficult to read posts it is considered shouting and poor netiquette.

Do the slideshow you burned to disc play on a DVD player? If not then please explain exactly what you did to burn to disc.

The dmsd files you created are simply project files listing the resources used in your project. What do you mean by "retrieve them"? from where?  Do you mean "Open" using myDVD? When opening the dmsd files you do not get any "menu on the preview screen" nor should any audio play.

I still don't follow what you are doing.  Use the correct program and/or displayed window names when you describe a step.

BTW, myDVD is not the program to use to create your slideshows. You should be using Videowave (Edit video - advanced).  After assembling your slideshow in Videowave you can save it to a project file (has the dmsm extension). You then launch myDVD and add those project files, each project file will create a Title in myDVD.

Thank you again for the help, and accept my apology for offending you by using caps.  I am a very senior citizen and new to computers and to the net.  I do have the burned and complete dvds in my library and can play them on my player.  In the future, I will do as you suggest and only use Videowave to create my projects. I assumed since MyDVD provides a save option, that I could save my project (much like a Word Document), retrieve it and edit.

I have ordered Roxio Creator 2011 and will begin anew utilizing the tips you so graciously provided.  Thanks for your patience.
