Hello,
I am trying to burn 3.41GB of data to a DVD with 4.4GB of free space, according to the software. However, when I try to do so I get a message that there is not enough free space. How do I get past this problem when there is clearly enough free space? I have to reduce the data to less than 1GB to get the copy to work and then I can't append anything.
Help appreciated,
Bob

Bob,
On the face of it, you should be able to burn your 3.41 GiB of data to an empty DVD which will have about 4.3 GiB of free space. Clearly something unexpected must be happening.
What software are you trying to do this task with? [name and version number]
Are you preformatting the DVD? [using Drag-to-Disc?]
How many files make up this 3.41 GiB? [just a few big ones, or a heap of tiny ones?]
How are you putting them on the disc? All in one fell swoop, or by writing a number of smaller sessions?
Please explain further ". . . and then I can't append anything" What is it you're trying to do at this point?
Regards,
Brendon
