You need to buy Creator 2010 or Creator 2011 if you want to run Windows 7. Creator 2009 isn't compatible.

Note: If you had bought directly from Roxio, [1] you would have got the latest and compatible version, and [2] if you had the need you could always return it for refund within 30 days.

The issue of where the 2009 was purchased should not have any bearing on getting updates, etc.
The product has Roxio on the box. Since there was no disclaimer concerning updates, etc. Roxio should have support for all legal, registered version of all their products, no matter where purchased. I will not purchase any more Roxio products until this policy is changed. No fix, no money.

It doesn't have any bearing. Just as you want it.

It does
, as long as they're not special OEM versions. Just as you want it.

But the policy is as you want it. Why do you now say you want it changed?

If you just bought it. see if Cosco will take it back  OR see if Microsoft will change W7 to work with Creator 2009.    :P   Remember no one forced you to go to W7.  it was your choice.

I, as well as all the others that purchased your product from Costco, were not aware that this product was not going to be supported. If this restriction was known, we probably would not have purchased it from Costco. Since there was no disclaimer or any other communication stating that the Costco version was not supported. No one was aware of this restriction. I can see your alliance with Roxio, so you as well as all the other representatives of Roxio can watch your sales decline. I, for one, will not deal with any company that uses these unethical practices.

Your problem is with Costco. THEY sold you an out of date (by two version) program. Roxio didn't do that, nor did they advocate it. In fact, if you checked either the website or the packaging, it says nowhere that it is W7 compatable.

If anyone is sold 'defective' goods, the redress is with the SELLER

Finally it's not 'our' product - unless there is a Roxio icon on the name, none of us work for Roxio (some of us aren't even on the same continent)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

As far as I can work out from the original post, the complaint from JoeMe is that Creator 2009 SE won't work with Windows 7.

This has nothing to do with the fact it was bought from Costco. None of the various versions of Creator 2009 will work in Windows 7. They are ALL not compatible with Windows 7.

You need Creator 2010 or better to work in Windows 7.

You are out of luck. I bought the same program in late 2008. Roxio has a fix but will not furnish it to us because we
bought the special edition at Costco.

Frederick222 is blowing smoke out of his . . . . head!

There is NO FIX to make Creator 2009 [any version] compatible with Windows 7. It doesn't matter if you bought it at Costco, Sonic/Roxio Headquarters, or the Playboy Mansion.

The only fix available is to buy Creator 2010 or later, since Creator 2010 is the first Creator version compatible with Windows 7.
