I have repeatedly experienced problems burning slideshows. I either receive a "80045018 Error while Opening Project" message or an "error encoding the movie" message. I have run through the forum with little to show for it. Most of you are clearly more knowledgable than myself and would greatly appreciate any help.
My system specs:
XP pro
P4 3.2
1.0 gigs ram
geforce 6800
70 GB hard drive mirrored
philips8701 DVD +-RW
any suggestions? I am thinking about canning this and trying the sony software.

I assume that you tried all the fixes that are pinned to the top of the individual boards. Are you using VideoWave or Slide Show Assistant to create the slide show? Tell us a little about what you are doing? What is the source of the images, are you adding music, text, transitions? If you go to VideoWave, the tools, options, and run the video test, does the dot stay with software or hardware? Try moving it to software and try again. You may have a problem if you are using 3D transitions. Do you have the latest versions of DirectX 9© and the latest driver update for that card. There was on that came out in the last week or so.
If you are using the Assistant, try using VideoWave for all your slide shows. Some people have problems with the Assistant.
