Having burnt a .dmsd project to disc, I want to put it back on to the hard drive. Whilst the retrieve function opens, it does not recognise the disc and/or drive (the drive is compatible with EMC8). Have also gone into windows explorer to try and run the launch_retrieve.exe software but this would not run/open. Have submitted this to Roxio Support on 24th June but still no response. Any of you good folks out there have any thoughts on this? I'm not the most technical of people by the way. Thanks

I may be wrong about this but .dmsd is a MyDVD project save right? So if it gets burned to a DVD it's no longer a project but a movie.I would think that's why you can't retrieve it from the disc,it's not there. The project would have resided on your harddrive and if you didn't save it,it's gone.

Unless he backed up the .dmsd and all files on a data disc. Since the OP mentioned Roxio Retrieve, it sounds like it was backed up on spanned discs. Very possible the discs didn't burn correctly or are corrupted.

Thanks folks. The project itself was a mixture of photos & movies using the dvd/video option with EMC8. I assumed that as this was burnt to disc, that I could re-import it, but its looking like I was wrong. I did mention that I'm not the most 'techie' person around. Still haven't heard from Roxio and am not happy that I spent over £8 on one of their helplines - a complete waste as their agent never got back to me. Think it's time to complain in writing.

You have not given us any answers to the questions we asked… Without that, there is nothing we can offer you.

If you called Tech Support they should have given you a Number for your problem. You need to follow up and call them back to see what the status is on your case.
