Menus and buttons

What have I done wrong. The docuemntation talks about linked buttons and setting buttons to do certain things. What I think I need is a "Play all" button. I can't get any of the buttons to allow me to see the settings.
Any ideas on what I did wrong. Maybe I can't break a whole movie into chapters to play just certain sections at a time.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate any help I can get.

When you 'Add Video' to MyDVD, it automatically creates a button that plays that movie or slideshow. IF you right click and 'edit chapers', there is check mark at the bottom to create a submenu with the thumbnails. When you UNCHECK that, teh chapter marks are still there, you just won't have the submenu.
That is one option.
The second choice is the same, but this time BEFORE marking chapters, copy the first button to the clipboard. Move the button temporarily. Then paste the button back. Rename one of the buttons 'Play All'. Rename the second button "Select Scenes" (or whatever). THEN right mouse click on the scenes button and 'edit chapters'.
This way you end up with two buttons that point to the same video. One plays the entire thing. The second will take you to the submenu wit thumbnails.

Click once on the button you created when you added a video.
Hold the Control key and hit "C". That copies it to the clipboard.
Move the button slightly cause the paste will be in the exact some position
Hold Control and hit "V". This pastes the button back.
You should now have two buttons that point to the same video. Rename one 'Play Video' ( or whatever you like). Rename the second one 'Select Scenes'. Right click on this button and EDIT CHAPTERS.

1) The option to change thumbnail is greyed out for the "copy" of the button labeled "scenes." It seems permanently the same as the "play all" button.
2) On the chapter submenu, I get the option for changing thumbnails, and it lets me go through the whole process of selecting the thumbnails, but in the end I'm still left with the "no image" crosshatching in my buttons.
Any idea what could be causing that?

Yes, I've updated my drivers and DirectX.
The DVD build failed. No error msgs, but when I tried to play the "burned" files from the DVD folder in PowerDVD, there were no menues, and my chapter points were gone altogether.

Yah. I also discovered, on closer examination, that the second build attempt only caught the first 20 minutes of a 1:20 video.
I now have VW grinding away (I'm not on that computer now), outputting my finished video as a DV AVI file. I'm going to try importing that into Sonic MyDVD 6, and see if I can get it to work that way. I don't want to spend the rest of my life finishing this DVD!

That worked beautifully. I don't know what the problem is with Roxio's MyDVD, but when I imported the same video into Sonic MyDVD 6, I had no trouble at all. Clean build and clean burn.
I suppose it would be interesting to see what would happen if I imported that finished DV AVI file into Roxio (rather than "sending" it from Videowave as an edited project, as opposed to an intact movie file). But right now, I don't think I want to spend the time.
Truth is, although it has fewer bells and whistles, I think the Sonic MyDVD is a stabler and more reliable program than the "upgrade."
