Looking for suggestions as to why audio blips occur after burning to DVD.  The audio "blips" have occurred with each burning of a DVD.  In the first instance the audio skipped for a moment near the end of the slideshow.  On the next burn, and the subsequent two burns thereafter, the audio skipped on the third slide and then again near the end of the slideshow.  The slideshow was previewed in both MyDVD and then again after saving to an ISO Image in Copy Convert.  No audio "blips" occurred.  The burn to DVD was also conducted at the slowest burn speed available.  After wasting two DVDs I decided to burn the slideshow to a rewritable DVD.  Received an error message that the DVD burning was aborted and the following error message was shown...Error 80004003.  This occurred twice with two different DVD discs.  I used DVD+R discs.  Have burned a number of DVDs previously and have never experienced this problem.  

In case this makes a difference, I use Norton Internet Security.  This is mentioned because it is suspected this software might be the source of the problem.  Previously I used Norton Antivirus software and did not experience any burning problems.

Any ideas as to what might correct this problem would be appreciated.

DUH !  Doesn't your comment on Norton give you a hint?  Adjust Norton so that it is NOT scanning everything that is being written to your hard drive.

It could be your computer or the discs !  

1) Clean up your computer; get rid of programs you no loner use with Revo Uninstaller (Moderate Mode), clean out the junk files using CCleaner and defrag your hard drive with Auslogics or Smart Defrag.  All these are free and you can download them from C/Net.

2) Instead of burning directly to disc, in MyDVD, select to burn (encode) to an ISO file. Name and set the location on your hard drive.  Once this is done, use VLC Media Player (free) to play the ISO file. If you have the same issues, then you can look at what Norton is doing during the encoding.  If not, you can burn the ISO to a DVD.  It will not work if you just copy the ISO.

3) Throw out those store brand discs (and Memorex) and get some good Verbatim or JVC (Taiyo Yuden - on-line sales only).

Thanks for the recommendations.  A number of the items you recommend are being implemented.  

Did not burn directly to disk from MyDVD.

Did encode to an ISO Image file.

Did burn the DVDs from the ISO Image file using Copy & Convert.  By the way, the slideshow was previewed while in Copy & Convert prior to burning the disk.  The preview played without any audio blips.

Will advise what happens after modifying Norton Internet Security to prevent scanning while burning.

Have not removed unused programs nor cleaned out junk files.  It wasn't done previously and whatever was on my computer apparently didn't interfere with the burning process.  Depending on the burning results received, this might need to be done.

Here's an update.  Reconfigured Norton Internet Security so that computer scanning does not occur while using Creator 2009 or its sub-programs.  After careful viewing of the DVDs that were burned previously, and noting where the audio blip occurs, there may be another possible cause for the audio blip.  Wanted a picture of a flag to open the slideshow.  Had to print a picture of the flag off the internet.  The print of the flag was then scanned using a Canon scanner.  This created a jpeg image which was sent to the folder containing all the digital jpeg images used in the slideshow.  The flag image was then dragged to the beginning of the slideshow, which already contained all the images used in the slideshow.  The audio track was then added to the slideshow and the length of the slideshow matched to the length of the audio track.

The audio blip occurs near the end of the transition (slow dissolve) from the flag slide to the first image on each DVD.  After that the audio plays without any problem.  Will now attempt to take a picture of an actual flag using a digital camera and then download the image to the computer to determine if this makes a difference.

That original error is a burning error.  Did you try different discs?  Try to borrow an external USB connected burner and see if you still have the problem with it.

When was the last time you updated the drivers for both your video and audio devices?

When you write "try different disk", what do you mean?  Do you mean different brand or different disk within the same brand?  If it is the latter, then different disks have been tried, all of them Verbatim brand.  On the matter of a "burning error", I burned a disk of a previously created slideshow with an audio track.  Did not experience an audio problem.  Consequently, it's doubtful that the disk burner is the problem.

Finally!  Successfully burned the slideshow to a DVD.  No glitches in the audio.  Did notice that with the previous 2 burnings the glitch occurred at exactly the same point during playback.  From the timing data shown on the dvd player, it was at point 09. Still have not determined why the last DVD burned successfully.
