I have Creator 10 CE and for some reason when I click on slideshow the slideshow assistant/window does not open. Any ideas on how to fix? Without this function I am unable to burn my photos to a disc.

Was the slideshow assistant working ok, and just stopped working?

What O/S doytou have?.  Is the rest of the CE version working ok?.

If you want to create a slideshow, avoid the Assistants and use Videowave, The Assistants are dumbed down wizards that are limited in their features and options (this is assuming your OEM version of Roxio has this feature).

OEM version's are cut back/slimmed down version's of the full retail version from Roxio.

I just installed this. It appears as though the rest of CE is working. I have never seen the slideshow assistant. Click on it once and you expect it to show up, no show. Get upset & click on it about 1/2 dozen times and I get a message that pops up saying that the slideshow assistant is already open. (Just can't see it)!

ANSWER THE QUESTIONS !  What OS?   Slow down, read the responses, think about it and then reply.  We cannot help you if you run off screaming in the woods.

Where did you get the Creator 10 CE?  CE designates that as an OEM from Plextor.  An OEM is a castrated version of the program so we can't tell you what you can or cannot do.  In addition, that program is based on a 5 year/4 version old base.  We cannot even tell you if it is compatible with your operating system.

Technical support for that product is through Plextor.  You must contact them for support.  Perhaps you can start here (link); you can also ask your question here (Link)

Meanwhile, Did it open minimized?  Sometime we miss things like that happening.   Does it open using Windows Programs.etc?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

My OS is windows XP Pro. The Creator 10 CE came with the Plextor CD/DVD drive I bought about a year ago. I just installed the Creator 10 twice. Full version not typical install. Slideshow assistant did not open minimized. I looked all over. I will try support through Plextor. Any other help you can provide will be great. Thank you.

It's quite possible that the app isn't actually there - it all depends what was done to th suite when bits were removed for the OEM version

Check on start menu and see if it's there and, if it is, where the link leads
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

It's there on the start menu and opens up to the welcome page. Slideshow assistant does not show up though.

Right click on it, go to folder and see if the APP is actually there.

It's possible that it's not - if clicking on it in start menu doesn't bring it up, it might just be a dead link that wasn't removed for the OEM package
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

If you see the progtram on the start menu, is there two options - one for the program and one for the applications?  The full program has both options.

On the start menu it shows an icon for Roxio Creator 10, when you click on it the program opens to the welcome page. When accessed through all programs it shows Roxio Creator 10 CE and options from there are Back on Track home, Creator Classic, Media player, music disc creator, My DVD, Photo Suite, Roxio Creator 10 CE, and Sound Editor.

It sounds as if the app simply isn';t there - that happens in some OEM versions where it may appear on the start menu - but the link doesn't exist
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
