Hello, I just installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 and the Roxio Audio Tag Editor is causing some problems.

Before installation when I clicked on a mp3 file through the browsing window in FlashFXP it would open through Winamp. Now when I click on an mp3 it opens the Tag Editor instead.

The odd thing is that when I click on an mp3 through regular Windows Explorer it still opens with Winamp but through the local browser in FlashFXP it opens the Tag Editor.

How can I fix this problem so that it'll go back to opening with Winamp?

Thanks.

Have you tried changing the File Types under Folder Options in Windows Explorer? I'm surprised that installing EMC did this but I don't use FlashFXP so I can't duplicate your problem.  Sometimes, right clicking the mp3 and choosing Open With then Choose Program followed by a checkmark in the 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file' is enough to make the change permanent but this hasn't always worked for  me.

Yea, the first thing I did was check the File Types section. It wasn't changed at all, MP3's are still associated with Winamp. I also tried right clicking on the file method and choosing -> Open with... ->  "always use the selected program to open this kind of file", just to try my luck. Still no change...

This is why it's so confusing, I don't get why it would still open normally through Winamp when I click on a MP3 file in Windows Explorer. Though when I click a MP3 through the local browser in FlashFXP it opens the Audio Editor.

I'm confused as well.  Maybe FlashFXP can help.  I'd try to contact them and ask.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same problem with EMC 10, when double clicking on a file with Servant Salamander ( a Norton Commander clone ).

Stick to you own thread instead of dredging up 2 year old threads.
