Easy CD Creator cannot use it until the application is completed." can anyone help me get past this message? Thanks!

Sounds like you have placed a cd in your burner that has been formatted (by DirectCD).
Use a disc that comes right of the packet/spindle.

Do you still get that message, after you reboot?

You could always disable Direct CD to prevent this problem occurring. It won't disturb normal operation of Easy CD Creator. There are two ways you can do this:

[1] if you're familiar with the use of REGEDIT, delete the entry "AdaptecDirectCD" from the
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key

DirectCD.jpg

or [2] If you don't want to edit your registry,
-go to Start > Run and enter msconfig.exe
-click on the 'Selective Startup' radio button
-click on the 'Startup' tab and uncheck the entry for DirectCD

msconfig.jpg

-click OK, and then restart your Windows.
