Divice 2861 Could Not Be Opened

i opened sony vegas pro 9 and then opened the capture functions of the program when it opened a pop up came up (as seen in picture attachment) and i closed the pop up and did a little investigating i found that the audio component of the capture settings was set to the usb capture device 2861 but when attempting to do this with the video function it keeps saying could not be opened

the problem was the computer after resetting the pc back to factory settings (yet again) and installing the basic software and virus/ add ware protection program i then installed the disc supplied with easy vhs to dvd and it worked right the first time, thank you all for you help.

So, what happens when you try to capture using the Roxio Creator 2009 software?

the roxio software will not complete the install keep stopping and saying that the instillation process is interrupted. I dont know how to fix that problem but i did get the driver software off of the web site (did not help). Dont know where to go from here

The device is designed to work with the particular Roxio product it came with. It will not work with other versions of Roxio and it will probably NOT work with any other video editing program. Contact Sony and see what they have for a capture device suggestion.
What Roxio program and version do you have. Perhaps we can help with the installation.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Are you trying to install both Easy VHS to DVD and Creator 2009? You posted in the Easy VHS to DVD forum, too.
