When a fade-in is placed before the first song, the preview plays not from the beginning of the song, but much earlier, as if there were a song before the first song. That is appropriate for a cross-fade between two songs, but not for a fade-in to the first song. I'm using version 6.0.3 with OS 10.3.9.

Roxio, I hope that you'll fix this for the next update.

What I'd do to create a fade in on the first track is use an audio editing app such as Bias Peak or Sound Studio and only use Jam for cross fading.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

The fade-in for the first track does work in Jam, but when playing the preview it is necessary to wait for a while before any sound is heard.

Use the scrubber to move the track farther to the left. It is a slight limitation of the interface, but it certainly wont prevent you from using the software in any way.
