How can I use DE to combine 2 DVD home videos, (kids basketball games), onto 1 DVD? The videos are under 4.7MB combined. I want to make copies for all of the parents so the final must work on all kinds of players.

File size means almost nothing when it comes to video for DVD. It is the time length of the video that matters more. A standard 4.7GB DVD can hold 60 minutes of video at best (HQ) quality.
A 10 minute video clip could have many different file size depending on the video format
Your DE version is most likely an OEM version which would mean that it is missing some features.
