I am trying to print a LightScribe label, using a LightScribe disc, with Creator 2009. In the "Select Style" I did find a "LightScribe" style but I am not sure that Creator 2009 actually prints a LightScribe label. I am hoping that somebody can tell me whether or not this program can do that or not?

LightScribe came with my HP computer. I also read somewhere that if there is an update, I should update the driver before attempting to use it. Although I have had my computer for over a year, I have never used LightScribe discs until yesterday. So I decided to burn the labels as well, after updating the driver. However, I deleted the software that came with the computer in favor of my Roxio Creator 2009. When I started reading how to make the labels I was under the impression that I needed software over and above the LightScribe driver, which is why I asked if RC '09 could also make them. But, after having posted my question, I found that not only can Roxio Creator 2009 make the label but I apparently can get free software from Verbatim, the manufacturer of the LightScribe discs I bought. So, to make a short story long, the problem is resolved. However, I am wondering if I am confined to the use of the 2 "LightScribe" style labels listed in the Roxio software or if I can use any of the others as well? The 2 styles listed are really very generic, drab, etc.,etc.

Lightscribe will be drab simply because it burns black on a drab color.  You can get CDs with different colors that make it look better.  I'm not sure about DVDs.  Burn in best quality.  Plan ahead; burning the template to the light scribe disc can take 30 or more minutes.

You can use ANY of the templates in Creator 2009 to burn light scribe.  There are many more you can download from LightScribe that also work with the LightScribe software.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I bought a pack of 25 DVD-R LS discs that are all different colors, but the label is as you noted..."drab." However, after having burned the labels, I found that I can others free from the manufacturer...Verbatim. I plan to try something different when I do this again. However, I set it to print dark, which is supposed to take longer. Since I was just labelling some of my wife's family movies I burned to a DVD, it was a simple one liner that took about 4-5 minutes each...not too bad.

THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES!
