Where does it say that in your first post? That would have helped.
Now we know that you wwre careful in installing the program but something has changed.
Have you used a registry cleaner either a stand alone or part of your anti-virus? What have you installed recently? id you see my signature about IE9 beta? Since we are not looking at your computer, you have to be willing to tell us what changed? Did you have a virus or a malware infection? Did you change your OS? Creator 2009 does not work with W7. Did you change your anti-virus? etc.

This program suite worked well last year
I am using the same Creator 2009 as I used last year
A repairman has since loaded a new copy of XP
I have since reloaded Creator 2009
I am now having a "missing file or corrupt" [what?] error
-The suite worked well for you last year, so the software works.
-The repairman has replaced XP, so that SHOULD work.
-Perhaps something has upset the installation of Creator 2009. A clean reinstall of C2009 should fix that.
The method for a clean install is found HERE.
Creator 2010 works well on XP, too, though you should clean uninstall C2009 first.
Hope this helps

Did the repairmen also install all the XP service packs?

If you have McAfee on the system and running, yes it's very likely that which is causing problems with your installation.

If your present installation is messed-up, you should clean-uninstall it before starting again without the antivirus program.
