I was in disc copier (EMC 8) using the video compilation mode to burn to dvd a divx file, that the program said the content quality was excellent.  It was burning for about 10 minutes before I got an error message that said, "power on reset or bus device reset occured - unit attention" (06/29/00).  What does this mean?  The first time this happened to me I thought it was b/c I had my power mode set to hibernate.  This disc was burned with everything turned off (including screen saver).  What should I do, does anyone know?

I googled the internet and got several hits.  At least one suggests computer problems but others suggest your burner may be a problem.

There are others that I did not read or that seems less useful.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Thanx for responding so quickly, sknis.  But I don't understand something, almost every aspect of all software that I use for dvd burning works (both Nero, and all the different Roxio software: classic, mydvd, dvd builder- I have emc7 & 8 installed, disc copier etc.  The one other problem that I was getting, esp. with disc copier is that I would burn the dvd take it out of my computer and put it into my Marantz reference DVD player and the menu would come up, but when I started the dvd, the dvd would freeze for a second or two and continue, and it would do this throughout the whole video.  But, the dvd worked just fine in all of my other dvd players.  I had burned the same dvd with my old computer and didn't have this problem.  My new computer has my old plextor dvd burner (w-the updated firmware) installed in it, so it might suggest a computer problem, right?  Is there anything I can do to test my computer.  BTW, I do have my dvd burner as the master.

Tough to say, but I would say that the Plextor is rock solid, and the DVD player that had problems with the disc, doesn't like the type/brand of media, or it is on its way out.  You did say the DVD worked fine in all of your other DVD players.  That pretty much rules out a bad burn.
