I have EMC 8 and recently purchased the Sony DVD Direct Recordable Drive VRD VC 20.  This unit comes with Nero 6. From what I understand EMC 8 and Nero 6 cannot coexit.

Is EMC 8 compatible with the Sony VRD VC20 DVD drive? Can I use EMC 8 and the video editing, dvd burning, etc. capabilities with the Sony DVD drive?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

I don't know about being compatible with the Sony, but EMC 8 will coexist with Nero with no problem, although I don't know why you would load the Nero.  It is  no doubt a stripped down version.

At any rate, do not load Nero's packet writing software, InCd.  It will not coexist with Roxio's Drag to Disc, which I wouldn't load, either.

Yes you can use EMC 8 with the Sony. When it records, it creates the same file structure as is on any other DVD.
